Feel unique beauty calendar

Last year when christmas rolled around and all the beauty calendars were released I realised how expensive some of them were and stuck to my chocolate. This year with my first wage from my new job I treat my self to the feel unique 12 days of unique beauty.

This beauty calendar as suggest only has 12 days. This means you can open it one of two ways. 1) by opening a door every day so you have all items by the 12th to test and play with before christmas or 2) open a door every other day so you have all the items on christmas eve. I will be doing option 1 as I have a christmas party on the 12th and can't wait to try all the products.

When it arrived I got a little bit excited and couldn't wait to open it up.

The black and gold packaging looks amazing great and i'm glad the box stands.

The box is tied with a gorgeous gold ribbon.

The box says to enjoy the suprises but has printed a list on the back of what you recieve in the calendar which is the only down side for me. Although this does give you a chance to look into the brands.
Some of the named brands in this box are Nuxe, This works, Redken and a newer product i'm looking forward to trying Fleur de force eye shadows.

This calendar is priced at £30 and is delivered for free between 3 and 5 working days after you order it with a mix of sample and full size products i'm looking forward to opening the doors and trying the products.

If you would like this calendar in time you better be quick I ordered mine off the feel unique website.

Have you got a beauty calendar ?
Which one have you chose ?

Thanks for reading this short blog post

Festive afternoon tea -The Comfy Duck

I've been looking at afternoon tea around Cleethorpes and Grimsby for a couple of weeks now and seen and heard about a lot of places. The Comfy Duck are now offering their Festive afternoon tea.
I haven't been to the oaklands since prom in 2009 but always here great things about it and follow their gorgeous instagram account that always makes me want to visit.
After pulling up the drive way and entering the resteraunt we were seated in a gorgeous booth and offered our winter fizz. Which was gorgeous. I don't normally enjoy champage but the creme de casis definitely made a difference the blackcurrant liquer made the champagne sweeter and more enjoyable for me personally.
While enjoying our winter fizz and waiting for our afternoon tea we sat and talked. The resteraunt was busy and we admired some of the food that went past, their sunday dinners smelt and looked gorgeous.

The afternoon tea is priced at £14.95 and offer different variations for dietary needs such as vegetarian and gluten free. They also do a childs afternoon tea which i thought was a special touch and have not seen anywhere else offer it.

Our first tier offered us our smoked salmon rocket and cream cheese roulate, turkey, spinach, cranberry and mayonaise and the beetroot macaroon with carrot and honey puree. We started with the roulade and they were beautiful. You could tell by the taste that all produce was fresh. Then it came to the macaroon which i was very intrigued with. When i think of macaroons i think of sweet ingredients unlike the savory ingredients in this macaroon. The macaroon itself was sweet from the honey in the pure and was definitely a talking point.

On to the second tier. The parsnip soup wich was a lovely thick soup and i love the way it was served in little tea cups. After the soup I had my little pigs in blanket. Pigs in blanket is my favourite thing on my christmas dinner. I love them. The last thing on the second tier was a roasted chesnut choux bun. The filling was definitely plentiful in my choux bun and tasted lovely.

The top tier of cakes

After the second tier I asked for our pot of tea I definitely needed a break from the food.  After enjoying my cup of tea which definitely was one of the best i've had in a long time I tucked into the top tier although it was hard to pick what to have first.
I went for the mulled wine tart with meringue kiss. This made me think of an ice gem which the table next to us had reffered to aswell but the taste was so good it just made me think of christmas which I don't normally do this time of year. Then i went for the cranberry and apricot panettone with pistachio cream. Now I love pistacho and the cream made the fluffy panettone even better for me. Then I had the had choice on what to enjoy next. The eggnog pana cotta whith christmas pudding crumble or the Terry's orange mouse with christmas tree shortbread. I went for the pana cotta and the small pot was gorgeous and i wish i could recreate it. The christmas pudding and eggnog just married together and i really enjoyed it but I think I saved best til last. The mouse was served in a tea cup with the shortbread planted in. The mouse was heavenly and not to thick it also smelt amazing the smell lingured longer than the mouse lasted. It was definitely my favourite sweet on the afternoon tea.

By the time we finished our afternoon tea we poured ourself another cup of tea and talked for a while. The afternoon just ran away from us and it was almost 4 when we left as we left we were greeted by a beautiful pink sky.

I would suggest this afternoon tea to anyone and would be great as a chistmas get together or even a christmas present. Afternoon tea is served between half 2 and 4. It may be a good idea to book as the resteraunt is alway busy and they prefer to keep waiting times to a minimum.
The resteraunt itself is open seven days a week and offers an a la carte menu which I am looking forward to trying next month.

Make sure to check out their facebook and instagram for information and great photos - The comfy duck.

The staple spot cleanser

So a couple of weeks a go I needed to buy a new brush cleanser that makes cleaning brushes a lot quicker and easier. I had been looking at superdrugs own brand B for some time and came across the brush cleanser. I have now used it a couple of times and thought i'd write a review.

The bottle is not anything fancy its plain and tells you what it does. For £4.99 I can not complain. The instructions say to spray the cleanser directly onto the brush. Two to three sprays although I do use more.

This is my most used brush I use it every day for foundation. I sprayed the brush 4/5 times and started to dab it on the kitchen roll.

I dab it on the kitchen roll and swirl it round until I can see most of the product is off. I then spray it once more and swirl it round once more.

This is the result I think this is great for a brush I use every day. The high street branded cleaner is a great product although I do need to find a deep cleanser.

Have you got any suggestions?

Until next time ...x

Gucci Première

I was a very lucky girl for my birthday and recieved a bottle of Gucci Première as a present and since I love it so much I thought I would share. First of all the packaging is beautiful the gold on the packaging continued to the lid and charm on the bottle. The bottle is made of a thick glass making the bottle feel expensive and look amazing on a dresser.

The perfume lasts all day and the fragrance is heady but in no way over powering.I was really happy with how long it lasts as I wouldnt want to put it in my handbag for a night out.

The top notes of this perfume are betgamont and orange blosson and I can really depict the orange.
The heart notes are described as white flower and musk and the base notes are woody. I would say this scent is one of my favourite as I am not into sweet fragrances but like floral scents.

This perfume is obviously higher price margined as it is Gucci branded. It is a perfect night out scent or special occassion and not an every day scent.

That's my round up of this scent.

What are your favourite scents?
What would you reccomend?

Thanks for reading.

October Favourites

So its that time of the month. I've collected up some of my favourites to show you and i'm excited to share some new finds this month so lets get on.

Makeup favourites

Bourjois air mat.
This is the only foundation I have used all month. I find it gives the perfect finish and covers every blemish. I will definitely be purchasing again when this runs out. To read all my thoughts on this read my blog post on it here.

I have three new eye make up favourites this month.

Natural collections duo eyeshadow in mocha/ latte. I love this little duo the light colour is perfect for the inner corner and the darker for darkening the crease. They are quite pigmented and easy to blend and are super affordable.

Next is maybelines colour tattoo leather effect in creamy beige. This I use in two ways. 1) as an eye primer to make my eyeshadows stay. 2) just as a wash of colour over the lids. Definitely a good buy.

My last eye product is by l'oréal. This mascara is my new favorite mascara. Last month I would not budge off lash sensational but I heard a lot of buzz around this product.  Volume million lashes féline this mascara does something magic to my stubborn non existant eyelashes. This lengthens volumises and colours my eyelashes so black I am super hooked. The wand seems to catch every lash I would reccomend this to anyone.

On to lips.

Revlon mat balm in sultry. This mauve pink lip butter moisturises the lips and gives the perfect pay off of colour. This product also smells minty fresh and gives your lips a little tingle. This mat balm gives my lips colour nearly all day i find myself only needing to reapply once in a day.

Rimmel 077 in asia this was one of my favourite nude/pinky browns all last year and I have rediscovered it when sorting out my stash of lipsticks. This lipstick goes with any look and is definitely a staple nude for winter.

My last makeup favourite is my matte lipstick in divine wine when reaching for a red lip this has definitely been it. I have even been reaching for it over my trusty 107 as this doesn't feel so drying on the lips and definitely lasts just as long.

Non beauty favourites.

Songs-  I have quite a broad music taste but the song I find myself humming all the time is Taylor swift wildest dreams.

Tv- impratical jokers never fails to amuse and make me crack up also celebrity juice. I am also guilty of enjoying x factor as well its just an annual coundown to christmas and is part of every year.

My Birthday-  I was spoilt by all my family and my dad came down the week after and I got to spend quality time with him. I really don't see him enough.

Blogs -there are two blogs that I really want to mention this month.

My friend Dannielle The hungry little lady. I always look forward to reading it and the pictures and content are always fab check out the blog here.

The second is Katie Middleton her posts are always well written and thought out and she is so genuine and down to earth this all shows in her blog check it out here.

Thanks for reading my monthly favourites.

Have you tried any of the products?

What are your monthly favourites ?
I would love to know.
