After partying friday night at the Picadilly party. Myself and Rich made our way to a full day at main stage which we were pretty thankful for.
Saturday morning kicked off with a Californian band called Mariachi el bronx. A mariachi band that had a rock influence. This was a great hangover band as the music was quite soft rather than the heavy metal start to Friday.
The morning continued with sets from Neck deep, Drenge and Palma Violets.
Neck deep and drenge are both british pop punk bands that i had never seen. Out of the two bands I enjoyed Drenge more as they had more crowd participation. The band from Sheffield made the crowd song along with their hit we can do what we want and made quite a diference to my hangover. Although I did listen to Palma violets it was from a distance as i had decided to have food before some of the bigger acts came on.
Panic! At the disco were next on the main stage a band i have loved since i was a teen.
Pushing our way to the front
Brendon (fan girl)
The set was an hour long and having listened to their new album over and over loving new tracks such as this is gospel, I was sure it was going to be a good hour. Panic! Did not disapoint singing old clasics such as nine in the after noon mona lisa and I write sins not tradgedies they also included a queen cover. Bohemien rhapsody. Which was amazing a complete crowd pleaser. I would definitely see this band live again and again
From one high energetic set to another All time low.
Having loved all time low since hearing time bomb I have definitely recently been getting into some older and newer tracks and knew the band would be energetic with there pop punk background. Their new album had made it to number one in the album chart and the number of fans ranging in age showed in the crowd. Some of my favourite songs were kids in the dark, dear maria, count me in and obviously time bomb.
After All time low i decided to get drinks and food in to watch Bastille from the hill. I have watched bastille before and after two high energy bands it was nice to chill. The big announcement was that the band has new music coming soon.
After Bastille Alt J took to the stage.
The set for Alt J was amazing all the lights and smoke and images prjected onto the screens the audience was relaxed enjoying their evening.
Sunset over main stage
These two photos are my favourite i caught while i was at leeds. I think it shows the crowd and atmosphere perfectly.
On to Saturdays hedliner.
Mumford and Sons
Having missed a chance to see them at Rockness in 2012 i was extatic to catch them at leeds.
The band then went to say how they miss the UK and have tour dates in November December (tickets on sale)
The crowd and atmosphere for this band was one of the best i felt (metalica kind of smashed it on sunday)
This folk band fitted so well into this festival.
How close I was to stage and the crowd.
The band played a perfect mixture of their new and old songs some of my favourite songs being Believe off their new album. Babel , little lion man, lover of the light and I will wait.
Fireworks to finish their night
Highlights of saturday were Panic! Alll time low and Mumford and Sons.
Next blog is the last Leeds Fest blog.
Which acts did you see on Saturday?
Has anyone still got festivals to go? If so who are you looking forward to ?
Until next time ....x
