Riverhead coffee

After reading The Hungry Little Lady blog about Riverhead Coffee, it was a spot that I wanted to visit. This independent coffee shop is brilliantly situated just outside the bus station in Grimsby.

The first thing that catches your eye in the Riverhead Coffee shop is the world map on the wall that is marked with chalk, detailing where their customers have been and come from. I then noticed and fell in love with how the coffee shop is decorated with mismatched furniture and hand made cushions it makes you feel right at home.
With little paper menus on each table telling the customers about all the fresh food, coffee and loose leaf tea they sell. I chose an iced vanilla latte and mum went for a cappuccino whilst we waited for our food.
The menu offers alternatives for dairy free and gluten free which makes the shop stand out as not everywhere caters for these needs.
The tables are also set with brown and white sugar in cute vintage black treacle tins and flowers in plastic bottles.

We definitely got to the cafe at the right time as it soon started to fill up with people for lunch and takeaway coffee.

I went for the crispy bacon salad which was presented beautifully and tasted amazing. It was made up of spinach, tomato, avocado, feta cheese, crispy bacon and a lemon dressing.

Mum chose the chicken salad which was made up of spinach, rocket, cucumber, avocado, chicken and a pesto mayo.

The counter was full of tempting home made cakes and treats.

Mum and I chose to treat ourselves to a cake each although we ended up halving them and sharing. We went for the double chocolate brownie and a blueberry muffin. The chocolate brownie is one of the best I've ever tried; moist and with a slight chewiness, I would definitely have it again and again.

After finishing our food we decided to have another drink. I chose the Cawston press in rhubarb where as mum went for tea. The rhubarb juice tasted just like rhubarb custard sweets which were one of my favourites as a child.
A cute armchair where people wait for their takeaway.

This quaint little coffee shop has a great atmosphere. The time just seems to fly by there. A great place to catch up with friends or to do work out of the house. The staff are amazingly friendly. A place i will visit again and again for sure.

Summer get ready with me....

All this warm sunny weather means a swith up in products i've been using and summer clothes finally :)
This is a quick look at some of the products i've been loving.
So first off in the shower i love the Keratin Smooth range from tresemmé. It leaves my hair feeling silky smooth and knot free and is great for straightening.

My favourite shower cream this month is the Palmolive macadamia oil and coca moisturising milk. As well as smelling delicious it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin and leaves the skin really smooth.

My deodrant for summer is Soft and Gentle Jasmine and coco milk . This lasts all day and smells fresh and girly. My Body Butter is Soap and Glory The Righteous Butter which main ingredients are Shea butter and Aloe vera which have great benefits for the skin.

For a quick and easy make up look i use only a few products.
Clinique dramatically diffrernt moisturizing lotion since using this as a tester last year i fell in love. It makes my skin look dewy and leaves it fresh. It is great for non make up days as well.
L'orèal infallible 24 matte 11 vanilla this foundation lasts all day and does not crease or go patchy.
Bourjois healthy balance vanille. I use this just to powder my T zone or on a non make up day just as a light base as my only item.
Benefit gimme brow. This is a really great product that fills in my brows and locks them in place.
Benefit Roller lash this mascara lifts and lengthens the lashes.
17 define and conquer i use the bronzing shade to warm up my face and the highlight on the top of my cheeks.
Rimmel In Love with Ginger this lipstick is a red/orange that always brightens an outfit and cheers me up.
Pure Touch New Look this perfume is fresh and lasts all day and really is a great summer scent.
My sun glasses are from Camden.
My necklace is from Topshop and my shirt is from Tesco

My shorts are from Topshop and are the Hallies and my shoes from Primark.

A quick trip to Bobbin

With weather like this food and cocktails outside is high on my agenda on my days off. Bobbin is a small bar that opened late last year and is known for its cocktails, music and pizzas but has recently expanded it's menu to wraps and salads.
Recently i have tried a mexican wrap with chips and sour cream. These wraps are filled with ingredients. The mexican wrap was filled with chicken onion peppers and avacado there was a subtle kick of spice which i really enjoyed.

Pimms in the sun

Shots of my food.

Pimms jug full of fruit for just £10 at selected times.

Just some of their menu.

Their feta salad was amazing especialy on a sunny day

Or alternatively salmon

Cocktails whilst waiting for food

The salads are served with dough balls

Cocktail menus to help make up my mind.

The lunch time menu starts at £5 for a full pizza or a pizza platter that comes with a small pizza, chips, coleslaw, onion rings and a choice between a few pizzas. The wraps and salads start from £6.90 but are packed full of goodness.

I can see Bobbin being my summer spot whether it be for lunch or cocktails and music this little spot is a hub of activity that i am enjoying :)
