Curious Cat

So after realising I don't relax enough with friends I arranged a meal with Danielle (thehungrylittlelady). We always seem to have a lot to chat about but work isn't a good place to catch up so we decided to go to the Curious cat  where we have both visited before.

On arrival we bought a cocktail to help us decide what to eat. Danielle chose the lepards spots which changes colour. She also claimed it for free after winning the Curiouscatselfie competition. I chose the colour of magic.

                         Both of our cocktails.

My cocktail was lovely and sweet. I definitely feel like I have to try a different one everytime I go so far i've tried the think pink and the long island ice tea. The think pink is definitely my favourite so far. It reminded me of refreshers.

The food menu.

The Curious cat is a new cocktail bar that is based in the centre of Grimsby and definitely the place to be on a weekend. The food menu and mix of retro and rustic decor of course the cocktails makes the perfect venue for any occassion.

Falafel and spinach burger

Pulled pork tacas

The portions were more than enough served on these wooden boards look amazing. The food itself was seasoned to perfection although I was a little jealous of danniels choice.

Desert menu

Lime and lemon cheesecake

Elderfower pana cotta.

Although we were full we definitely couldn't resist the desert list. Although unfortunately they didnt have the salted caramel option so I will return for that another day.

Upstairs in the Curious Cat is just as lovely and cosey. This is definitely a great place to bring the cocktails up and have a catch up. With comfy armchairs and chandeliers bring great company and you have somewhere you could spend all night.

Before you leave don't forget to take a curious cat selfie with a chance to win a free cocktail.

Bourjois Paris : Air Mat in 02 Vanille

So Bourjois have a new offering of foundation. I LOVE bourjois foundation especially the healthy mix range. This new offering may just save the day. I have dry to normal skin but at work I seem to get super shiny half way through my shift.

This new foundation claims to be "as light as air" which it does not feel cakey or even noticeable when applied. This foundation gives a flawless finish.

The packaging is pretty and easy to use and for 30 ml costs £9.99. This claims to mattify which so far I can not argue with.

Before

After

I would say this foundation is aimed at a more yellow base and not very suitable for skin that is extra dry. It clings to the few dry spots I am getting.
This foundation feels great on the skin giving me what I want in my foundation. I would say this foundation has a medium coverage as I feel I don't have to conceal after using it.

So far I adore this foundation but have only been using it a week. It deffinitely keeps me matte but just for a while I will always bring my healthy balance powder with me.

Have you tried this foundation?
Does it sound good to you?

Body Image - Shopping and more.

So these are two photos of me. One taken three years ago when I was so unhappy with my size. One taken a few days ago where I am happier with my size. In photo one I was a size 16/18 and could never quite enjoy shopping I hated having to try on clothes. After a couple of photos three years ago I decided to make a difference.

Having lost weight I now love experimenting with fashion knowing what suits my shape and what I enjoy wearing.

There is just one nagging factor that I have seen affecting girls lately shop sizing.

Girls all have different shapes and sizes and I completely understand catering for that is difficult.

It would help girls everywhere if shops had a universal sizing so we knew what size we were. I definitely do not expect to have to go to a shop and try on two sizes bigger than my frame just for it to fit this completely shatters all my self esteem and I want to go home immediately.

All shops are guilty of having different size measurements but on rare occasions a 12 in one style of jean will fit me pick it up in a different colour or style and sizing is thrown out the window.

I would love for it to be simple to shop and it not to be a problem every time I went to a different store (not that this stops me shopping).

With pressure from the media to be skinny as that is attractive (not being the case) and shop sizing being out of sync with each other I definitely feel like my self esteem has taken a battering in the last couple of years.

I read a great blog on this exact issue in August by Katie Middleton she definitely presents her points more clearly you should check it out here.

So what are your thoughts on sizing and shopping?

Autumn wardrobe overhaul

Just a quick haul and look  book post today to show you how i'm updating my wardrobe.
All of these pieces are for layering as I find this is the easiest way to stay warm and look good as well.

This bat winged jumper with skinny sleves is from Primark and is made of the softest material and really keeps the heat in. For 12 pound this was a bargain as I think it will wear well all through winter and spring as well. The skirt i'm wearing is from Tesco. This zip through skirt can be dressed up or worn casually and I see myself reaching for this a lot in the coming months.

This grey waterfall cardigan/ gillet is great for layering as it adds a bit of warmth but is not bulky. Teamed with this grey and black basic t-shirt goes nicely with this skirt but also with jeans. The cardigan and t-shirt are both from Primark.

I have found a new love of injecting colour into my wardrobe. This month it seems to be tan. This skirt from Tesco is a great peice the gold detailing adds to the peice. Teamed with this polo neck jumper and a pair of boots and i'm ready to go anywhere.

This cape is a caramel kind of tan colour (great at descriptions). This cape styled jacket has arm holes to make it easier to move in. This peice is easy to style and adds warmth. This can be layered over t-shirts or even jumpers on colder days. This cape was £28 such a bargain for a versatile peice.

This is the jumper from outfit one styled with jeans. This shows the length better and a different way to style it.

This checkered shirt is the perfect way to layer for autumn. This is perfect to layer over t-shirts or to put under a jumper for a pop of colour showing at the collar.

These are just a few peices i've transitioned my wardrobe with from summer to autumn.

Comment what your favourite autumn peice is
