Sunday was definitely Leeds festivals most rock inspired day. With headliner Metalica to top off the rock bill. As most people who know me and the music I listen to would know i'm not into heavy rock music so Sunday was my least favourite day for many reasons although some of the acts we did see were amazing.
Babymetal. This band is made of three young japanese girls with a death metal band behind them. The music they create is described by their record label as cute metal and described by others as jpop meets metal. The band is very visual all three girls dress the same and dance along to their songs. The next band on the main stage was Fidlar this is a punk band from california. I didn't really listen to most of their set as i was talking about what i had just seen. After fidlar had finished i settled down on the grass to see a band i had seen before Marmozets.
Having seen this band before i knew they werent as strong live as they could be but enjoyed their set mainly three of their tracks, move shake hide, why do you hate me and born young and free.
Modestep this dubstep cross metal band was a bit of a shock on the sunday lineup but definitely created a buzz. This band have amazing stage presence also know how to start a crowd going and start a mosh pit. The set finished with sunlight a song i absolutely love by them.
Peirce the veil a progressive rock band with a large following after listening to their set and hearing their voices it's definitely a band i will add to my playlists which suprised me.
Circa waves after agreeing to see as much music i could at leeds we made it over to the nme for this infoe band from Liverpool. The tent was rammed and after taking 10 paces in we couldn't move anymore. The half an hour set was full of energy. The band have one album so played the best off of it. I really enjoyed the track T-shirt weather.
Royal Blood one of my highlights of leeds.
I was so excited that I was actually going to see this band live after trying to get tickets to see them on tour and them selling out. The two peice band have electric stage presence. They make sure the crowd get the most of their music playing the hits off their album back to back. They also played one new track they have written. The crowd for Royal Blood was amazing and i even got caught up in a moshpit or two this one hour slot i think was my main highlight of Sunday.
After Royal Blood was an hour and a half set from Bring me the horizon.
Having seen bmth at leeds two years previous i knew what to expect from this band. Before two years ago i hated bmth it wasnt a band i would have listened to but seeing them perform at a festival is amazing.
We the cut bmth short so Rich could go see a band he use to enjoy, ASh. A band that had their first hit in 1995. This band suprised me in the fact that i really enjoyed their set plus they have new music coming.
METALICA
Although not being great fan of metlic their two hour set really did change my mind about their music. The band had bought lucky fans (or they had paid extra) on stage to watch their set. Rich had given me a music lesson earlier that day trying to explain that Metalica had changed the face of rock which i completely appreciate. I also appreciated the guitar solos but by this late on Sunday I was exhausted and having not really listened to metalica before i enjoyed sitting on the grass listening trying to enjoy my last day at the festival.
This rounds up my festival blogs.
Until next time ...x
